Our body is like anything else in this world, it's constantly changing. When we are younger we behave invincible and as we get older we realize the importance of taking care of the physically body we have..... sometimes too late.
I'm inviting you today to just start by becoming aware of the sensations in your body. Awareness allows us to take action steps to impliment nourishing self care practices.
I am a very active person and when I was younger I would bulldoze myself through injuries. I would say I used my body very well and hard. Now I'm old enough and a little bit wiser to know when I need to make changes to upgrade my selfcare.
Here are some things you can do to consciously start implimenting better self care practices:
Walk (20-30 min) a day. Moving especially as we get older help circulate the blood in our body and makes it easier for the heart. It also prevents edema from building up.
Stretch - open up the tight muscles, ligaments and tendons in your body to maintain better mobility.
Weight bearing exercises
Spend time in silence to develop an awareness of how our mind spends its time and develop more mindfulness.
Spend time in nature
Become aware of the foods you put in your mouth and become more conscious of the foods you KNOW are better for you.
Mineral Hot Springs
Take time out to go on a retreat that helps you reset every 2-3 years
There are many more ways to practice self care. Find one or two things to start with. Finding balance between work and life is not optional it's necessary.
